Yearly Weather Guide
Alicante is located on the east of Spain, so the climate is a little bit cooler than the south of Spain, but you can still expect daytime temperatures between 10°C in winter and 28°C in summer. Night times can be a little cooler, with temperatures dropping to 4°C or 5°C in winter. There are mountains surrounding many coastal areas, so it tends to keep the rain away and temperate higher. If you travel inland, you will find cooler templates.
The busiest periods for tourists are July and August when the temperatures are at their highest. You will find tourists who can travel outside of school holidays prefer the months of May/June and September/October though. During this period, the temperatures are still very hot, but tolerable for most people. Apart from the fact that it is cheaper to travel, it is a more pleasant place as there are fewer tourists. You can easily find a taxi, catch a bus without having to stand, and eat in a popular restaurant without having to queue.
If you are planning to travel to Alicante between October and May, take a jumper and jacket with you for night times. Whilst the days may be pleasant, especially when you are in the sun, temperatures can drop suddenly at night and an extra layer of clothing is required.
If you like the beach then the best time to visit is between May and October. The sea is at its warmest in August and is enjoyable until late October or early November. In early May, the sea temperate can still be a little cold, so you will not find many people in the sea, especially the locals.
